Falcons to host Junior College Fall Classic
MONTEVALLO -- The
University of Montevallo baseball team
will be hosting the fifth annual
University of Montevallo Junior College
Fall Classic on the UM campus, on Sept.
16-20, 2008.

Falcons add fourteen for 2009
MONTEVALLO (8/7) – The University of
Montevallo baseball team has announced their 2009 signee class. 14
student-athletes make up the class of 2009. Ten student-athletes are
transferring to UM, while four student-athletes will be incoming
freshmen for the 2009 season.

Andrews recipient of NCAA Division II
Degree-Completion Award
MONTEVALLO (6/13)
-- Zach Andrews
is a recipient of the NCAA
Division II Degree-Completion Award
for the 2008-09 school year, it has
been announced.
The 5-9 Hartselle native recently
completed his fourth and final season of competition at the University
of Montevallo. He is one of three Falcons to receive the financial
award, which will assist him to complete degree requirements for his
bachelor's degree.

Andrews named to GSC All-Academic Team -- nine
Falcons named to GSC Honor Roll
BIRMINGHAM (6/10)
-- Senior pitcher Zach Andrews
has been named to the 2008 Gulf South Conference
All-Academic Team, it has been
announced.
The 5-9 Hartselle native is named to
his second consecutive GSC
All-Academic Team. He is one of 11
student-athletes
from GSC East Division teams that
were chosen.
Additionally, nine Falcons were
named to the 2008 Gulf South
Conference Honor Roll. Named
to the team in addition to Andrews
were Chris Cooper, Chase
Fowler, Daniel Furuto,
B.J. Holloway, Ryan Norman,
Joe Prokop, Jeffrey Reach
and Stephen Taylor.
