MONTEVALLO (8/21) – The University of Montevallo has added three more student-athletes for the 2008-09 season, it has been announced.
Manal Cali (Northampton, England),
Tateshia Page (Canton, Miss.) and Wakesha Searight (East Cleveland,
Oh.) will join the Falcons this fall.
Cali, a 6-0 guard and forward, is a transfer from Tallahassee Community College,
where she competed for coach Teresa Atkinson. She shot 45 percent from the field
and 74 percent from the free throw line and played in 28 games last season.
Page, a 6-3 post player, is a transfer from Hinds Community College, where she
competed for coach Micherlyn Smith. She averaged 10 points, seven rebounds and
three blocks per game and was selected to participate in the Mississippi Junior
College All-Star game. She also averaged 6.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game,
while shooting 47 percent from the field her freshman season at Pensacola Junior
College. Originally a signee at the University of Alabama, Page led her Lanier
High team to the state semi-finals appearances her junior and senior seasons.
She was also shared the team MVP award and was named team Defensive MVP. She was
selected to compete in the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star game after earning
All-Region and Second Team All-Metro honors her senior season.
Seawright, a 6-2 post player, is a transfer from Odessa
Community College where she competed in eight games before suffering a
season-ending injury. She also competed her freshman season at Dodge City
Community College, where she played in 29 games and averaged 4.6 points and 2.7
rebounds per game.
The three signees will join Aurelie Derenoncourt (Louisville, Ky.), and
Alicia Lewis (Youngsville, La.) will signed with the Falcons earlier this
summer.

Brittney Ezell said. “They all possess good size, strength and versatile skill
sets. We are thrilled to have them join the program and I know that they are
eager to get started at Montevallo as well."
"Tateshia is extremely athletic and active on the boards. She is a very fiery player and fierce competitor. Manal is capable of shooting the ball from 3 and has a solid midrange game to compliment her ability to play on the block. Kesha is very active on the glass and versatile on the blocks."
