 Falcons Capture First Meet Victory in School History
 

CLEVELAND, Miss. – The University of Montevallo women’s cross country team captured the first ever victory in school history today (Sept. 6). Freshman Ginny Davis (Madison, Alabama) wasted no time making her mark in Montevallo history as she set the school record in her first ever race wearing the Purple and Gold.

Davis finished third overall with a time of 19:46.94. Not far behind was sophomore January Waters (Grayson, Georgia) and freshman Katherine Schofield (Snellville, Georgia) who finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Waters finished with a time of 20:03.03 and Schofield clocked in at 20:26.50.

Montevallo defeated fellow Gulf South Conference members Christian Brothers and host Delta State. The Falcons finished first followed by Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Delta State.

Rounding out the scorers for Montevallo were Katie Munkus (Trussville, Alabama) and Ashton Stansberry (Cullman, Alabama).
