 Davis Named GSC Runner of the Week
 

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Freshman Ginny Davis (Madison, Alabama) of the University of Montevallo women’s cross country team was named Gulf South Conference Runner of the Week.  Davis led the Falcons to their first team victory in school history.

Davis finished third at the Delta Invitational with a time of 19:46.94. In her first ever race as a Falcon Davis set the school record for a 5K and was the first Falcon ever to run a sub-20 minute 5k.

This is the first time a Montevallo cross country runner has been named Runner of the Week for the Gulf South Conference.

Davis and the rest of the Falcons will return to action Saturday, Sept. 20 at 9:45 a.m. as they travel the University of Alabama-Huntsville Fleet Feet Sports Invitational.
