AUGUSTA, Ga. – The University of Montevallo women’s cross country team took on its first 6k race of the season. The Falcons out-ran six teams in route to their third place finish at the Augusta State University Jaguar Invitational. Freshman Ginny Davis (Madison, Alabama) led the squad with a fourth place finish. She finished the course in 25:33.20.
Also having solid runs were sophomore January Waters (Grayson, Georgia) and freshman Katherine Schofield (Snellville, Georgia). Waters finished 10th with a time of 26:20.40 while Schofield came in 12th with a 26:35.10 time.
The other scorers for the Falcons were junior Katie Munkus (Trussville, Alabama) junior Lindsey Golay (Sharpsburg, Georgia).
The Falcons finished third behind host Augusta State and Anderson University. They beat out Lander University, Erskine College, Coker College, Newberry College, Georgia Southwestern State University and Paine College
The Falcons will return to action Friday, October 3 at 3 p.m. as they travel to Tennessee Tech for a two mile race.
