    Women’s Golf Breaks School Scoring Record

 
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of Montevallo women’s golf team played in a tri-match with Birmingham Southern College and Spring Hill College and broke the school scoring record by one stroke (626). The match was played at Highland Park in Birmingham.

The leading scorer for Montevallo was sophomore Britney Martin (Fishers, Indiana) who shot a two-round 150. Freshman Emma Breen (Swindon, England) finished second for the Falcons and seventh overall with a 156. Two spots behind was sophomore Emily Gibson (Toronto, Ontario) who shot a 157.

The team finished second behind division I Birmingham Southern but defeated Spring Hill College in the match.

The team will return to action Monday, Sept. 22 in Pensacola, Florida at the Bubba Watson Invitational.
