Falcons fall to
Alabama A & M
NORMAL (8/21) -- The University
of Montevallo dropped a 2-1 decision at Alabama A & M University in an
exhibition men's soccer match Thursday night. Jonathan Maloney scored a
first half goal with an assist from Milan Pualic.
UM will begin the 2008 season at home against Auburn
University-Montgomery Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.
Falcons picked
to finish second in GSC Pre-Season Coaches poll -- five Falcons named to
Pre-Season All-GSC Team
BIRMINGHAM (8/7) -- The University of Montevallo men's
soccer team team was picked to finish second in the 2008
Gulf South Conference Men's Soccer Coaches Poll it has
been
announced.
The University of
West Florida was picked first, collecting 34 points. UM
was picked second, earning two first place vote, with 32
points. Christian Brothers University (27) was picked
third.
Five Falcons were selected to the
2008 Pre-Season All-Gulf South Conference Team. Senior forward Jonathan
Maloney was a unanimous selection. Also selected
were with Maloney were senior midfielder James Ward
and senior defender Jim Witherow along with
sophomore midfielders Otavio Tramontina and
Milan Pualic.
Murphy
recipient of NCAA Division II Degree-Completion award
MONTEVALLO (6/13)
-- Glenn Murphy is a recipient of the NCAA
Division II Degree-Completion Award
for the 2008-09 school year, it has
been announced.
The 6-2 native of Chelmsford,
England native
completed his fourth and final
season of competition at the
University of Montevallo this past
fall. He is one
of three Falcons to receive the
financial award, which will assist
him to complete degree requirements
for his bachelor's degree.

signs eight for 2008
MONTEVALLO (5/23) -- The University of Montevallo Men’s
Soccer Team has signed eight players to the 2008 recruiting class, it has been
announced.
Juan Lemos (Miami, Fla.);
Vance Curro (Birmingham),
Nathaniel Foster (Brampton,
Ontario), Austin McIntosh
(Sheffield, England), Riley Camp
(Hoover), David Esser
(Birmingham), Philip Jackson
(Gainsborough, England) and
Stephen Beatty (Mandevile, La.)
will join the Falcons this fall.
