The Solution Center
The Solution Center offers assistance to faculty, staff, and students with UM computer services and network issues. Computer services include maintenance of UM computer labs, UM provided desktop services, email services, username services, and assistance with software such as Banner, and Canvas. Network services include issues connecting to FalconNet and printing issues. The Solution Center cannot perform repairs on personal equipment.
The Solution Center is located on the ground floor of Morgan Hall room 108. The Solution Center may be contacted by phone at (205) 665-6512 or via email at SolutionCenter@montevallo.edu.

Solution Center Ticket System (Web Help Desk)
A user can create or update a ticket with the Solution Center in multiple ways. They are listed below.
- Email – send an email from your UM email address to SolutionCenter@montevallo.edu
- Onsite – visit the Solution Center located on the ground floor of Morgan Hall.
- Phone – call the Solution Center at (205) 665-6512
- Ticket system – Log on Web Help Desk, using your UM email address and password.
In addition to creating a ticket, when using the ticket system, users can check the status of tickets and submit a survey for closed tickets.
Solution Center Workflow
Student Email
Student email can be accessed through the Student Email Portal link in the footer of this website or it can be accessed directly by using the Student Email Portal on the Student Resources webpage. Students be sure to use your UM email address and password.
Faculty and Staff Email
Faculty and Staff email can be accessed through the Faculty and Staff Email portal link in the footer of this website or it can be accessed directly by using the Faculty and Staff Email Portal on the Faculty and Staff Resources webpage. Faculty and Staff be sure to use your UM email address and password.
Identification Cards
Each University of Montevallo student is required to obtain an official ID card that displays the student’s photograph. The card is required to use the library and take advantage of the services and activities at the University. Students should visit the Solution Center in Morgan Hall to obtain a UM ID card or email SolutionCenter@montevallo.edu. Please have a government-issued ID with you for verification.
Students are to carry their cards at all times and present them for identification when requested by University officials. Student ID cards are intended for student use only. Loss or theft of cards should be reported to the Solution Center (this can be done through the GET app) and to the Police Department. A student who uses the ID card in an illegal manner will be subject to disciplinary action.
