Technology Advisory Council


Charge

The charge of the Technology Advisory Council TAC is to consider, review, and recommend campus technology policies and procedures to the Chief Information Officer (CIO). TAC membership is comprised of campus-wide representation all colleges; the library; and operational departments, units, and offices.

Subcommittees

The following standing subcommittees consist of members of TAC and are charged with addressing specific areas of IT governance and operations.

Executive

The Executive Subcommittee, made up of the two TAC co-chairs and secretary, performs the following tasks.
• Coordinate TAC meetings by developing meeting agendas and communications.
• Record and archive TAC meeting minutes while serving as content owner for TAC webpage updates and management.
• Communicate TAC and subcommittee recommendations to the CIO.
• Communicate CIO recommendations to university administration.

Academic Support

This subcommittee, consisting of appointed TAC members, annually solicits, reviews, approves and prioritizes classroom and other learning space renovation proposals.

Digital Communications(website)

Working in conjunction with the divisions of Advancement and External Affairs, Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, and IS&T, this subcommittee is tasked with enforcing, amending, or waiving the policies and procedures related to the university’s digital communications. Membership includes a representative from each college, the library, and each campus division with marketing & communications, admissions, and physical plant represented separately.

Policy & Procedures

This subcommittee periodically reviews and updates existing information technology policies and develops new policies when needed.

Projects & Planning

The Projects and Planning Subcommittee works in conjunction with IS&T to review and report to TAC on IS&T projects that are in planning, underway, or recently completed. Committee membership includes at least four committee members (including IS&T staff representative, serving as chair).
