Dr. Erica Roberson-Middleton

Dr. Erica Roberson-Middleton is an assistant professor and clinical supervisor in the Department of Communication Science and Disorders. She recently joined the faculty in 2021.

Dr. Roberson-Middleton completed her Bachelor of Science in Communication Science and Disorders at Alabama A&M University in 2013. She received her Masters of Science in Communication Science and Disorders at Howard University in 2015. After receiving her Master’s degree, Dr. Roberson-Middleton went on to achieve a Ph.D. from Howard University in Communication Science and Disorders in 2021. She has done research in the areas of Ebonics and African-American English and has presented several presentations and lectures on these topics.

Dr. Roberson-Middleton holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), and is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Alabama. Dr. Roberson-Middleton also serves on the University of Montevallo’s Academic Support Subcommittee of TAC.

Dr. Roberson-Middleton teaches courses in stuttering at the graduate level and courses in clinical policies and procedures at the undergraduate level.
