The art minor is available to any student with interest and ability in art.

Minor in Art History
The Art Department offers a minor in Art History, which is open to students of all majors. The Art History curriculum fosters an understanding of the historical, philosophical, and social conditions of visual culture.
Requirements: 21 credit hours.
- Art 120: Art History Foundations
- Art 220: Introduction to Art History
- Five additional courses are selected from 300- and 400-level art-history

Minor in Arts Administration
Requirement: 21 credit hours
The Arts Administration Minor consists of 21 credit hours distributed among courses in business, finance, and theatre, and three credit hours each from art, business, and communication. Students from all UM majors may minor in arts administration. The Arts Administration Minor is designed for students with an interest in leading, managing, and participating in arts organizations and activities across the arts sector.

- THEA 304 – Applied Theatre-Management (must be taken three times for a total of three credit hours)
- THEA 404 – Theatre and Arts Management
- MK 351 – Principles of Marketing Writing Reinforcement –or MG 361 – Principles of Management and Organization Theory
