UM offers a minor in music studies that consists of 21 credit hours distributed among courses in music theory, literature, and performance. Requirements include MUS 111, 112, 113, 114, (Theory and Music Skills) MUP 129, 130 (Class Piano), MUS 250 (World Music), 4 hours of private lessons at the 100-20 level, 4 hours of ensemble (one per semester), and 2 hours of music electives.
