Big Event lends helping hand

More than 525 students from 33 different campus organizations, as well as two alumni groups, completed service projects at 51 job sites in Montevallo and Brierfield at UM’s annual Big Event!

The Big Event took place April 5. Organized and sponsored by the University of Montevallo Student Government Association, the event provides students and others with an opportunity to lend a helping hand in the community the University calls home.

Participating organizations include Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Gamma Delta, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Alpha Kappa Lambda, Alpha Tau Omega, ACDA (American Choral Directors’ Association), Amnesty International, BCM (Baptist Campus Ministry), Chi Omega, Delta Gamma, DeltaSigma Theta, FCS (Family and Consumer Sciences) Student Group, Freshman Forum, Golden Key International Honour Society, Housing and Residence Life, Kappa Mu Epsilon, Lambda Chi Alpha, Math Club, Minority Student Union,Montage (the yearbook), NAfME (National Association for Music Education), National Pan-Hellenic Council, Panhellenic Council, Phi Chi Theta, Phi Gamma Delta, Phi Mu, Secular Student Alliance, Sigma Tau Delta, Spectrum, Student Government Association, University Program Council, Upward Bound and Zeta Phi Beta. The two alumni groups that participated were the Kappa Alpha Psi Alumni and the Alumni Association Junior Board.
