When Chris Sams got the call to return home to play one of his favorite childhood characters, he couldn’t resist it.
“I grew up just loving the story of Peter Pan, just like everyone else,” he says. “I read it over and over and saw films like ‘Hook.’ It’s a dream for any little boy or adult. The older we get, the more attached we get to the story.”
Sams–a University of Montevallo graduate now living in Los Angeles–has the title role of J.M. Barrie’s tale at Birmingham Children’s Theatre.
