Join us on Friday, April 12, at 1PM in UMOM 309 to hear from a panel speaking on careers in Environmental Law! Refreshments will be provided. The panel will include Blake Hudson, Sarah Stokes, and Stephen Stetson.
Blake Hudson is the A.L. O’Quinn Chair and Professor of Law atthe University of Houston Law Center and a University of Montevallo graduate. He teaches environmental and land use related courses, and researches and writes on the intersection of governmental structure & natural resource management, forest management policy, and the environmental implications of land development.
Sarah Stokes is a senior attorney at the Southern Environmental Law Center in Birmingham, AL. She has taught as an adjunct professor at Samford University and served on a focus panel formed by Governor Bentley to create a state water management plan. She was recognized by the Cahaba River Society as the Cahaba Conservationist of the Year and by the Alabama Rivers Alliance as a River Hero. After graduating from college, she served in the Peace Corps in Paraguay as an environmental educator.
Stephen Stetson is a Senior Campaign Representative for the Sierra Club, covering Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia. His work for the Beyond Coal Campaign focuses on retiring dirty coal-fired power plants while bringing clean energy and green jobs to the Southeast. He is a licensed attorney and registered lobbyist with over a decade of public policy experience in Alabama. He lives in Montgomery.
