Reading by Allie Rowbottom, Author of JELL-O GIRLS

Start Time: April 18, 2019 3:30pm
End Time: April 18, 2019 5:00pm

On Thursday, April 18, nonfiction author Allie Rowbottom will visit campus for a reading from her book, JELL-O GIRLS, at 3:30 pm in the Pat Scales Room in Carmichael Library. A gripping examination of the dark side of an iconic American product and a moving portrait of the women who lived in the shadow of its fractured fortune, JELL-O GIRLS is a family saga, a feminist history, an intimate personal memoir, and a story of motherhood, illness, addiction, love, and loss. Books will be available for sale and signing; bring a pen to participate in optional creative nonfiction writing activities. This event is sponsored by the Forte Festival of Creativity, the Department of English and Foreign Languages, and the College of Arts and Sciences.

Individuals needing disability-related accommodations during this event should contact the host department or Disability Support Services (205.665.6250, DSS@montevallo.edu) as early as possible. Efforts will be made to accommodate all access requests regardless of timing, but the University cannot guarantee that requests made with less than one week’s notice can be met.
