Gardendale student elected SGA treasurer

Jordan Wilson was recently elected SGA treasurer.

Jordon Wilson, a University of Montevallo student from Gardendale was recently elected to the position of treasurer for the UM Student Government Association.  

Wilson is an upcoming senior at the University and is currently majoring in chemistry. He is highly accomplished within the Department of Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, having presented research in multiple conferences. In serving as treasurer, Wilson will be overseeing the SGA’s budget and expenditures during the school year. 

He has been recognized for presentation of research at such events as the Emory University STEM symposium, the 2016 UBMC McNair Research Conference as well as UM’s own Undergraduate Research Day. On campus, Wilson works as a lab assistant as well as a tutor for multiple scientific subjects. 

The University of Montevallo Student Government Association strives to facilitate better relationships between the faculty, staff and student body. They work to assess problems, make positive improvements and facilitate change at the University of Montevallo. SGA promotes the ideals of the University of Montevallo, ensures unity through diversity and serves as the student voice to the faculty.
