Dash and Dine

University of Montevallo students currently enrolled in the 2024 Spring Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability class are thrilled to announce the first ever Dash and Dine Charitable Event!

This year we have the unique opportunity to partner with the two amazing organizations, the Arc of Shelby County and the Montevallo Clubhouse from the Boys and Girls Club of Central Alabama. As future social entrepreneurs, we have been given the challenge to help develop an exciting fundraising event with the objective to help raise funds and awareness for these two organizations. The 2024 Dash and Dine Event will include a traditional 5k race and a “fun run,” which will then be followed by a food competition, with categories of barbeque, wild game, international and dessert. Enter to show off your talents in the kitchen or sample and judge the exciting entries.

Schedule

All Dash and Dine events will be held on Saturday, April 13, at the historic and beautiful University of Montevallo campus.

The 5k race will begin at 10:30 a.m. (Fun Run @ 11 a.m.) and participants will need to meet at the Robert M. McChesney Student Activity Center to check in at least 15 mins prior to start. The Food Competition will start at 11:30 a.m. and will last until 1:30 p.m. with the winners announced shortly thereafter.

*T-shirts will only be available, first come, first serve at the 5K. Preferred sizes and availability not guaranteed.*

This event will feature family-friendly vendors from the Shelby County and Greater Birmingham communities.  Oh, and did we mention there will be an exciting silent auction as well?

We cannot wait for you to join us on Saturday, April 13 at The University of Montevallo’s campus for a day full of fun for all ages. We graciously ask for your help in order for our class to reach our goal of raising $10,000 for these two deserving organizations. We need your help in making our event as successful as possible by signing up and donating below. No amount is too small, and your contribution means the world to us. With the power of the community, anything is possible!
