For Montevallo graduate Matt Reynolds, 18 days and 631 miles alone in a kayak was the most difficult and rewarding experience of his life.
“It took me three days to get to the starting point,” he says. “I kept thinking, ‘If it took that long going 80 mph, this is a ridiculous idea.”
But Matt did it anyway — he kayaked the entire Alabama Scenic River Trail, from near Rome, Ga. all the way to Fort Morgan.
