Montevallo to offer Latin American Studies minor

The University of Montevallo is pleased to announce the formation of an 18-credit-hour minor in Latin American Studies!

The minor will draw from classes in history, anthropology, geography, literature, foreign language, and study-abroad experiences.

The Latin American Studies faculty include Drs. John Bawden, Virginia Ochoa-Winemiller, Rosa María Stoops, Eric Vaccarella, and Leonor Vázquez.

The minor speaks to the growing international importance of Latin America and the value of knowing something about Latin American history and culture in light of recent Hispanic immigration to Alabama and the Southeast.
