MONTEVALLO—The Student Publications Committee at the University of Montevallo recently announced the selection of Heather Buckner of Hoover as editor of The Alabamian, UM’s student newspaper, for the 2012-2013 academic year. Buckner, a graduate of Oak Grove High School and a sophomore at UM, is majoring in English with a concentration in journalism. She served as copy editor on the staff of The Alabamian in the 2011-2012 academic year.
