The Montevallo Chamber of Commerce’s new executive director has roots in the community going back more than three decades, around the time he arrived to attend the University of Montevallo.
“I’ve lived and worked in the Montevallo area for the past 35 years or so, since the late ’70s when I came to school here,” said Steve Gilbert, whose first official day on the job is today. “This was an opportunity to get even more involved in the town.”
