Kendall Rae Criswell, a University of Montevallo Student from Odenville, was recently selected as the STARS coordinator and Higher Education Day coordinator at UM.

Criswell is a sophomore and a political science major at the University. As the new STARS/Higher Education Day coordinator, she will help organize the University’s participation in advocating for funds toward higher education. She will also be encouraging the student body to register to vote so they can change the community for the better through political elections.

“I am highly honored to be able to lead my peers to advocate and fight for the change we deserve in our small and beautiful Montevallo community,” said Criswell. “It’s a very big task, but I am ready to take on the position and lead the change the Montevallo students and I want to see in our world.”

The mission of Higher Education Day is to advocate the importance of higher education in bettering the lives of people in Alabama. It represents an ongoing effort to help sustain and protect Alabama’s higher education resources for generations to come.
