Founded on campus in 1995, the Gamma Delta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Lambda has distinguished itself through its many achievements in its short history. This can be seen through AKL’s winning the IFC Scholarship Trophy every semester since coming to campus. For their philanthropies, Gamma Delta hosts a haunted house each fall and participates in a “Stache Bash” in the spring. To promote Greek unity, AKL participates in the Phi Mu Dating Game, Lambda Chi Pumpkin Fest, Alpha Gam Lip Jam, and various other philanthropic events hosted by other Greek organizations. For social events, AKL participates in a Crawfish Boil with Chi Omega, goes Pajama Bowling with Delta Gamma, and hosts formals, date parties, and other sorority mixers each semester.
On campus, brothers of Alpha Kappa Lambda have been Gold Leaders, SGA Exec members, and have held numerous other leadership positions. Gamma Delta has won three of the past five Greek Weeks and continuously does well in intramurals.
Currently, brothers serve as Montevallo Masters, Resident Assistants, and Orientation Leaders and are involved in College Night, SGA Exec & Senate, Justice Council, UPC, and Campus Outreach, as well as various other clubs and organizations on campus.
The Gamma Delta Chapter has distinguished itself also with a strong brotherhood that can be seen by anyone on campus and has garnered a reputation for having as members some of the best gentlemen around.
