Second annual MoYo Festival set for May 19

The second annual Montevallo Yoga Festival (MoYo) will be held Saturday, May 19, on the University of Montevallo campus.

MoYo event organizers believe Yoga is for Every Body. If you’ve never done yoga before, come and be amazed. Attendees will find that yoga benefits people of all ages, genders, shapes, sizes, and experience and fitness levels.

Participants will choose from a wide mix of classes. Yoga classes will introduce a variety of styles, from AcroYoga and restorative yoga to more traditional practices. Seminars and interactive workshops will include movement (hula hooping and dancing) and introductions to meditation, whole body health and mindfulness.

MoYo provides a venue where individuals can access important health information and create relationships centered on improving the well-being of the community.

MoYo will also feature a vendors’ bazaar. Attendees will learn more about products that support wellness and will be able to purchase goods from local artisans.

The day will begin early with a group meditation. Breakfast and registration will follow. Participants will then head out to nearby studios and classrooms to choose from among 20 classes offered over the course of the day. The wellness festival concludes with a group relaxation meditation followed by a brief closing ceremony.

Late registration is $60. Student registration is $20. The registration fee covers all classes as well as two healthy vegan, and vegetarian meals prepared especially for MoYo Fest.
