UM Theatre to open season with ‘God of Carnage’

UM Theatre will present God of Carnage as its opening performance of the 2014-2015 theatre season.

This emotionally charged, actor-driven drama by Yasmina Reza starred James Gandolfini and Jeff Daniels on Broadway.

UM’s production will take place Thursday, Oct. 2-Sunday, Oct. 5, with 7:30 p.m. performances Thursday-Saturday and a 2 p.m. matinée on Sunday. All performances will take place in the Chi-Box Theatre, and seating is limited.

The cast includes Bailey Gaskin, Hannah Mansfield, James Powers and Peter Strickland.

UM’s production is directed by Marcus Lane, with assistant direction by Chance Caruthers. Lighting and scenic design is by Kel Laeger, with costume design by Emily Gill. Kyle Moore will provide technical direction, while Ashley Knowles will serve as the stage manager.
