MONTEVALLO–More than 90 students received their diplomas at summer commencement Aug. 1.
The commencement address was delivered by John O. Hudson III, an attorney who serves as vice president of public relations and charitable giving at Alabama Power Company and president of the Alabama Power Foundation, one of the state’s largest corporate philanthropic organizations.
Following the address, Dr. John W. Stewart III, president of the University of Montevallo, conferred degrees on 60 candidates for bachelor’s degrees, 36 candidates for master’s degrees and two candidates for the educational specialist degree.
After students received their diplomas, Mike Malone, president of the UM National Alumni Association, inducted graduates into the 27,000-member organization.
